It had taken a few weeks, but Jason had finally come to terms with the fact that with Tim back in Gotham, his room was all his own. It was crazy to have so much space all to himself, and he knew he was probably tempting fate into giving him a roommate from the new kids coming in, but if everything in the room was his now, Jason was going to rearrange it all to look how he wanted. If he did end up with a new roommate, well, they'd just have to deal because he was here first. At least, that was how he was telling himself it would work as he moved things around.

Jason shrugged, but he couldn't stop himself from blushing at being called awesome. "I don't know, some stuff might still throw me. Like, you secretly being a girl, or your tattoo psychically linked you to Luke and Percy or something."

Now that Nico had to laugh at, reaching to mess with Jason's hair. "Dude, if I was linked to Luke and Percy, I would be begging you to beat me to death with that baseball bat of yours. But I was totally a girl for a few days and...that was just terrible."

Jason swatted at Nico's hand to try to keep his hair in place. "I didn't think being a girl was so bad. The boobs were kind of distracting though. And I was even shorter, which is just ridiculous."

"I can't imagine you shorter," Nico teased, saving his hand by settling it on Jason's chest. "I thought the whole thing was kind of a nightmare. But then, I'm not all that into boobs."

"Yeah, I know, I'm short enough already," Jason said, smirking as he put his hand over Nico's. "You don't like boobs? I never would have been able to guess."

It was good to know at least one person understood him. "Percy thought I was. That kid pays no attention to the world around him, I swear I could be a gorgon and he wouldn't notice."

"Isn't that dangerous? For you guys to not pay attention to your surroundings?" Jason asked. "That was one of the first things I got trained in. It's too important to be aware of things."

"I mean in more of a self-centered about life sort of way. Toss him in battle and you're good." Nico couldn't deny that Percy could fight. "Now, Jason Todd, you're capable of combining your smarts with your observations. Makes you dangerous in a different way."

"You think I'm dangerous?" Jason asked. He perked up a little at that because really, how cool did that sound?

Nico appreciated the way Jason perked up and he smiled a little. "Uh huh. You're probably dangerous in a lot of ways beyond that whole beating things up with your fists thing I've heard about."

"Really?" Jason asked, looking at Nico like doing that would tell him how the other boy's mind worked. "How do you think I'm dangerous?"

Nico didn't know how to react to that sort of look, but he didn't flinch away. "You pay attention."

"How does that make me dangerous?" Jason asked. "It just makes me, you know, observant."

"Intelligence plus observation equals dangerous deductions," Nico told him, tapping his chest in time with the words. "I'm betting I should keep my evil master plans far from your radar."

The reminder that Nico thought he was smart made Jason feel really good, and he smirked as he looked down at Nico's hand. "Right, 'cause you're totally the kind of guy with evil master plans. I think if you ever end up like that, I'll know no matter how far you get from my radar."

"Because you're that good or I'm that bad?" Nico wondered, still amused.

"Well, I'm good, and I don't think you'd be good at being bad," Jason said. "So, it'd be easy to notice."

Oh Jason, so young and trusting. "You might be surprised by how naturally it comes to me. These things are supposed to be genetic, after all."

"Yeah, but is your dad...okay, so he's not the best person," Jason said. "Do you think it's inevitable you'll be like him?"

"Oh gods no, I was kidding," Nico assured him. No matter how often his eyes reminded people of his dad, Nico desired acceptance far too much to go that route. "Not that he'd mind if I went that way."

Jason made a face at that, and scooted closer to Nico. "I'll let you know if I see it happening. Unless you want to be evil to people who deserve it," he said, trying to tease.

Nico leaned over Jason a bit, so upset he was closer, really. "Only if they really deserve it. Like if they took the last filled donut or something."

"Oh, yeah, your priorities are totally in tact," Jason said, laughing. "I feel so safe right now."

"You don't look very safe," Nico agreed, his hand tracing over Jason's shirt. "Good thing you've never stolen my donuts or I'd have to take advantage."

Jason looked down at Nico's hand as he scooted a little closer. "So, the lesson here is that I should never touch your food, unless I want you to take advantage of me?" he said.
