The one downside to Bruce knowing exactly what day it was in Fandom was that he was completely aware that Jason was going back before he needed to. There was a whole week of break left - almost another month in Gotham - and Jason easily could have stayed. But the truth was, he missed the island. He missed his friends, and just as much, he missed the independence he had here. He loved being Robin, there was no denying that, but sometimes, going back to following someone else's rules was hard, especially when that someone was Bruce Wayne.

After agreeing that he'd come home to Gotham again within the next few weeks, Bruce had agreed to let Jason head back to Fandom. He didn't have that much to pack - most of his Christmas presents had come in the form of clothes and money to buy modern things on the island - so that meant that when he got back to his room, he threw his bag down without bothering to unpack it. There'd be time for that later, and right now, he wanted to see if there was a position he could find on his bed that wouldn't make his latest set of bruises ache. If there was one thing that could be said about Fandom, at least he didn't get beaten up here as often.

Jason had to admit, that was a nice distraction, and he tilted his head almost without thinking about it. "You did," he said. "Is that why you were surprised? 'Cause you didn't know I'd be here?"

Clearly Jason needed Nico's hand in his hair and a little sucking action. "Mhmm," Nico murmured the affirmative, finding Jason's neck to taste much as he remembered.

Jason gasped softly, but tried to hold onto his question. "What if...what would you have done if I wasn't here?"

Nico didn't think he could talk very well while working on Jason's neck, so he lifted his mouth closer to Jason's ear. "Slept." He didn't intend to sleep now, no.

The feeling of Nico's breath made Jason shiver a little and stay right where he was. "In my bed?" he asked quietly, smiling more as he pictured that. "Everything would have ended up smelling like you."

"Yeah, lucky you don't have the nose of a hellhound," Nico chuckled to himself before kissing Jason's ear.

"I still would have noticed. Probably. I'm pretty observant," Jason said, turning his head to try to brush his lips over Nico's. "And it's okay. I told you you could stay here if you needed a place to hide. I'd just, you know, prefer if it was with me here too."

"I think I'd like it better your way, too," Nico pointed out, trying for more than a light brush of the lips, but still pulling back after a second. "Thanks."

While they were pulled back, Jason figured it would be a good time to get his shirt off too, and leaned back to do just that. "Anytime," he said, grinning at Nico. "Seriously."

Well that was just distractingly hot. "Seriously. You're kind of too awesome." Yeah, Nico was blaming Jason's shirtlessness for his own lack of sense.

"Too awesome?" Jason asked, leaning in to give Nico's neck a kiss, since Nico had given him the idea. "I don't know if that's possible."

Nico sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. "Oh it is. You act like I'm normal or something." Or really, Jason didn't say anything about the cold, dead feeling some people noticed around Nico.

"Oh? I can treat you more worshipfully if you want," Jason teased, knowing that probably wasn't what Nico wanted. "If I'm treating you too normally, I mean."

"So not where I was going," Nico said, settling his hands on Jason's shoulders. "I like the way you are."

"And I like treating you the way I do," Jason said. "So it all works out." Really, he was willing to put up with a lot in exchange for being around someone who cared about him.

"Maybe I should be the one getting my worship on in here." Jason was putting up with Nico's presence and his stink, after all.

"Well...I mean, if you want to, I'm not going to discourage you or anything," Jason said. Really, who could be that stupid? It wasn't like he was making Nico act like that or anything.

"Stop me if you're too sore," Nico instructed, leaning his head to see if he couldn't return to making a nice mark on Jason's neck. It was his version of worship, okay?

Even if Jason was too sore for that, he probably wouldn't have said anything because god, Nico's mouth felt good when he was marking him. Getting to look at the mark was a nice part too, especially now that he didn't have to worry about hiding things like that from Bruce for a while. "Not sore there," he said, his eyes fluttering shut. "That's good, really."

Nico thought it felt pretty damn good to press against Jason and maybe reach to grope his hands over the other boy's back. If he could, Nico would totally mark every inch of Jason. Thank the gods there was no one in Fandom for them to hide from.

It was probably a good thing that Jason didn't know how willing Nico was to mark him, or that's all he'd be doing. Jason moaned quietly as he leaned closer to Nico, wrapping his arms around the other boy to keep their bodies pressed together.

As it was, Nico was unable to stop himself from leaving a spattering of tiny marks as his mouth roved from one side of Jason's neck to the other. Making out with Jason reminded him of battling Kronos -- time seemed to physically slow and his focus was all too clear. Of course, in this case his focus was getting Jason to make hot noises, not end a war.

Jason had to admit, he thought making out was a lot better than war too. He clung to Nico to try to keep himself from squirming, and moaned louder, for his own sake and for Nico's.

Working on his new spot until he couldn't stand not seeing what those moans did to Jason, Nico finally pulled back enough to get a good look at that beautiful face. The usual intensity of his stare was likely only compounded by the rather desperate emotions Jason's presence stirred.

Jason would never have thought it was possible to get aroused from just looking at someone, but that had been before he'd met Nico. Now, being looked at with desire made Jason feel warm all over, and he could only meet Nico's eyes for so long before he had to duck his head. "I'm really glad you're here," he said quietly.
