Room 507, Thursday Evening

With only one class left between himself and spring break, Jason was taking some time to try to start packing. "Try" being the operative word there, since he'd never actually been to Hawaii, and didn't know what to pack. He knew how to pack light, and he knew how to pack for emergencies, so he was trying to combine those and make it all fit into one bag. So far, his plan was working well enough, but he wasn't sure how long that would last.

"I figured you'd like it almost as much as I would," Jason said. "And I'd make sure it was worth your while in the end."

"Yeah, totally never gonna doubt that, Jay," Nico said, smirking because he so thought he had Jason all figured out. At least when it came to sex.

"You have an awful lot of faith in me," Jason said. "That's kind of nice. I'm not really used to it."

"What, like Bruce doesn't have any faith in you and your many abilities?" Even if those were (hopefully) different abilities than the ones Nico trusted in. "I find that hard to believe."

"That's different. He trusts me because he knows what he's taught me, and he trusts himself," Jason said. "You trust me because you like me. It's a lot different."

"Dude, that can't be the only reason he trusts you," Nico said. "I mean, you're like his son, right?" Wasn't the dream that a father would trust his son? Not reality for Nico, but always the hope.

Jason looked down for a moment, trying to come up with words that weren't embarrassing. "Yeah, I am," he said, rubbing his hand over his mouth to try to hide how stupidly happy it made him to get to say that. "But he doesn't always trust me. That's something I have to earn."

Nico must have been a trust slut because he was certain Jason had earned his trust like, the third time he'd talked to him. Probably because he was killing fish with a baseball bat. "Clearly I should be making you work harder."

Jason gave Nico a mock glare for a moment before perking up. "Clearly you shouldn't, because I like how much you trust me now, but if you were going to make me work for it, what kind of things would I have to do?"

Because Nico had thought so hard about this? "Um, trusting things. I don't actually know. I've worked a lot for trust and I haven't gotten it much, so I guess I just give it up kinda easy."

Jason gave Nico a sympathetic look as he snuggled in closer. "I trust you more than anyone else here," he said. "And you didn't even have to work that hard for it. Don't forget that, okay?"

Nico was really starting to associate those strange warm feelings that spread through his chest with Jason. Just his presence, no matter what the other boy said or did. It was almost nice.

"Thanks," he said, ducking his head a bit. Nico didn't have many nice things. "Letting you down would suck a lot. I might have to throw Percy under that bus."

"I'm really not worried about you somehow letting me down," Jason said. "Unless you want to shove Percy under the bus, in which case, go right ahead."

Nico leaned over to press a kiss to Jason's cheek. "It's gonna be so weird if I see my Percy."

"He's older than the one here, right?" Jason asked. "Is he as much of an ass? Is there any way we could trade one for the other?"

"You probably wouldn't like one any better than the other," Nico pointed out, given their personalities were not all that different. "But my Percy's kind of my hero. And dating Annabeth - who is kind of like Luke's little sister, only not related, you know?"

"He's your hero?" Jason asked. That was a little more important than who he was dating.

"Kind of?" It was hard to explain looking up to the guy. "I mean, he's like, the chosen one in my world. Even if he's really really not perfect. And I helped him become that. He did what I couldn't." Even if Nico still had a hard time forgiving and forgetting, shh, fatal flaw.

"Do you think he could be a hero here? I mean, this Percy," Jason said, having a hard time imagining that. Percy as a chosen one so wasn't fair.

"Yeah, that's a harder question," Nico admitted. "But we'll find out soon enough. Um, not that you can tell him that. Or taunt him with it when he's being a jerk." Since Jason and Percy always had those fun conversations when thrown together. "Not that I think you would, but I'm always tempted."
