Room 507, Sunday Afternoon

After spending Friday night sleeping in the labyrinth, getting to crash in his bed last night had almost been a treat for Jason. He hadn't bothered setting an alarm for this morning, figuring that after dealing with groping hands and violent goblins he deserved to sleep in a little, so he hadn't been awake all that long even though the morning had long since passed. When he'd woken up, he'd found that fighting his way out with the others was finally taking its toll, and he was scratched up and sore enough that just staying in bed for a little while longer seemed like a great idea.

Jason laughed and shook his head. "No, it's okay. Did you get here by..." He trailed off and waved his hand toward a dark part of the room, like that was sign language for shadow travel.

It was a pretty good sign, considering. "Yeah, I wanted to see you and...I should probably just take the stairs next time, huh?" Nico just hadn't considered it when he'd left Mrs. O'Leary in the stables.

"Knocking first would probably be a good thing," Jason said, before focusing on the more important part of what Nico said. "You wanted to see me?"

Nico nodded solemnly. "Weird stuff's been happening and it seemed like a good idea."

"I think the weird stuff is pretty much over, thankfully," Jason said, sitting up fully so he could at least look at Nico. "Did you run into any trouble this weekend?"

The grumbling over missing out on the majority of stuff had been kind of epic earlier on. "I got locked in my room. You?"

"I, uh, got to fight some of the goblins," Jason said vaguely. "Inside the maze."

Right, like vague wasn't going to ignite his curiosity. "Dude, you got inside? What was it like?"

"Um, creepy?" That was the first thing that came to mind, at least. "It was weird. There were doors that talked and traps everywhere and I got saved from falling down a hole by living, groping hands. It was just crazy. But, we got everyone out in one piece, so it was worth it."

Nico snickered, "You got groped to safety? I'm glad Daedalus didn't include that in his labyrinth." Even he wasn't that much of a creeper.

"Daedalus?" Jason asked. "Who's that?"

"Another demigod," Nico answered. "Just older and a lot smarter than any I've ever known. He invented the labyrinth that used to exist in my world." Since it had died along with Daedalus when Nico took his soul. "It wasn't the same as this one. At least, I never got groped by a bunch of hands there."

"Yeah, it wasn't exactly fun. But everyone's okay, so I guess I can't complain too much. I'm sorry you were stuck," Jason said. "I'm glad that wore off."

"Yeah, kind of difficult to interrupt your beauty sleep if I'm stuck downstairs." Nico smiled a little, pulling his feet up so he could face Jason better.

"You didn't interrupt my sleep. I was awake already, kind of," Jason said. "It's just been a long few days."

Nico eyed Jason for a moment before speaking again, "You say things like that - it was crazy and long and not fun but worth it to save these people and I don't know if that means I should ask more about it or not."

"You can ask more if you want to, or don't if you don't really care," Jason said. "I don't know how much there is to tell. I just don't see the point in talking about stuff if you don't want to hear about it."

He reached out to shove at Jason's leg, as if to point out that he was there. "I'm naturally curious. And if it involves you, well, we can ratchet that up to intrigued, okay? Tell me what you did."

Jason tried not to smile too much as what Nico said, but he couldn't help it. Being intriguing to someone was kind of a new thing, okay? "A bunch of people got together after that Jareth guy said we had 24 hours to get everyone. Some people went after him, and some people went to find everyone who'd been kidnapped. I was in the second group," he said. "We camped out in the maze Friday night, and then in the morning, we went in."

"Ahh, explains the lack of sleep," he added, tugging off his shoes and dropping them to the floor to make himself more comfortable.

"Yeah. We took shifts being guard, but it was still hard to sleep," Jason said, moving to the side so there was room for Nico next to him if he wanted to sit there.

Nico accepted the invite and moved to sit beside him, scooting down so his shoulder wasn't much higher than Jason's. "Always is when something big is happening. So then you went deeper in?"

"Yeah, we snuck in and got past the talking doors," Jason said, "which was more than a little weird, especially since they weren't helpful. Then a couple of us accidentally split off and fell down a hole." That was a little embarrassing. "That's where the gropey hands were."

"I'm surprised they didn't try to keep you," Nico teased, only smirking a little. "Oh wait, was this heroic trip to the labyrinth in costume or not? I want the right picture."

Jason gave Nico a little nudge with his elbow. "No, I didn't go in costume. It feels kind of weird to be in costume here when no one else does it. It's less of a big deal at home."
