Room 507, Thursday Evening

With only one class left between himself and spring break, Jason was taking some time to try to start packing. "Try" being the operative word there, since he'd never actually been to Hawaii, and didn't know what to pack. He knew how to pack light, and he knew how to pack for emergencies, so he was trying to combine those and make it all fit into one bag. So far, his plan was working well enough, but he wasn't sure how long that would last.

"I don't actually have my own phone," Nico admitted, taking the hugging opportunity that Jason's arm offered. "But, I could see about calling you?"

"I'd like that," Jason said, shifting closer. "Then I can fill you in on everything that's going on. I've heard some of these trips get crazy." Which probably wasn't a nice thing to say to someone who wasn't going. "And I can distract you from whatever's happening with you, if you need it."

"That'd be cool," Nico agreed, leaning a bit against Jason. "Just don't tell me how you spent the day laying around shirtless and I missed it."

"What if I promise to spend some time laying around shirtless when we get back?" Jason asked. "Can I tell you about it then?"

"Only if I get invited to help you lay around shirtless," Nico said, thinking this could be a good trade off, especially if the laying around happened somewhere away from the water.

"Well, what would the point be in laying around shirtless if I did it all alone?" Jason said. "I'd definitely need company."

"I will be the very best company ever," Nico promised. "Even if there's not sun, I'll make sure you have all the lotion on that you could possibly need." Dirty or not.

Jason grinned and ducked his head down so Nico couldn't see him start to turn red. "Now, how am I supposed to function with that mental image?"

And really, Nico thought that was seriously too cute of a reaction. "I can take it back," he teased, reaching to rub his chilly hand over the back of Jason's neck. This was one boy who might need to use heated lotion on others.

"Don't you dare," Jason said, shivering softly. "I'm not gonna let you."

"Sounds like you have ways of stopping me," he retorted, not removing his hand because it wasn't like he was going to have much chance to do this for a while.

"Hmmm, I don't suppose tying you down would be helpful to making you put lotion on me," Jason said, thinking about it.

"You'd have to put the lotion on my hands and then rub yourself against me," Nico said, making a face. "I don't think that'd work out very well." Even if he didn't mind the thought of Jason rubbing against him, ahem.

Jason had to picture that too, and the image made him laugh and get red again. "No, it wouldn't. Maybe I'll surprise you and ask nicely for you to stay?" he said.

"You know, even if you asked meanly, chances are really good I'd stay," Nico admitted, kind of attached to all things involving Jason. "It'd be fun for me, after all."

"I figured you'd like it almost as much as I would," Jason said. "And I'd make sure it was worth your while in the end."

"Yeah, totally never gonna doubt that, Jay," Nico said, smirking because he so thought he had Jason all figured out. At least when it came to sex.

"You have an awful lot of faith in me," Jason said. "That's kind of nice. I'm not really used to it."

"What, like Bruce doesn't have any faith in you and your many abilities?" Even if those were (hopefully) different abilities than the ones Nico trusted in. "I find that hard to believe."

"That's different. He trusts me because he knows what he's taught me, and he trusts himself," Jason said. "You trust me because you like me. It's a lot different."

"Dude, that can't be the only reason he trusts you," Nico said. "I mean, you're like his son, right?" Wasn't the dream that a father would trust his son? Not reality for Nico, but always the hope.

Jason looked down for a moment, trying to come up with words that weren't embarrassing. "Yeah, I am," he said, rubbing his hand over his mouth to try to hide how stupidly happy it made him to get to say that. "But he doesn't always trust me. That's something I have to earn."

Nico must have been a trust slut because he was certain Jason had earned his trust like, the third time he'd talked to him. Probably because he was killing fish with a baseball bat. "Clearly I should be making you work harder."

Jason gave Nico a mock glare for a moment before perking up. "Clearly you shouldn't, because I like how much you trust me now, but if you were going to make me work for it, what kind of things would I have to do?"

Because Nico had thought so hard about this? "Um, trusting things. I don't actually know. I've worked a lot for trust and I haven't gotten it much, so I guess I just give it up kinda easy."
